Introduction

From encountering elephants at Hwange’s waterholes to ziplining across the Zambezi at Victoria Falls, this week-long holiday combines the best of Zimbabwe.

It begins with a safari through two of the country’s most impressive national parks. The fertile landscape of Mana Pools is complemented by the more arid terrain of Hwange in the east. You finish with time in Victoria Falls, where either relaxation or adventure are on offer.

Day 1: Harare – Mana Pools

Arrive in Harare and transfer by plane to Mana Pools

Days 2-3: Mana Pools

Spend a couple of nights exploring this wildlife-rich landscape beside the Zambezi River. Set out on foot to spot wildlife on the fertile floodplains.

Days 3-5: Hwange National Park

Transfer by plane to Hwange National Park, renowned for its large elephant and lion populations. Explore this park, visiting the waterholes that attract a wealth of wildlife.

Days 5-7: Victoria Falls

Finish with time in Victoria Falls to see the spectacular waterfalls here. Either relax after safari or take advantage of the plethora of adventures on offer here.

Where to Stay

Both Mana Pools and Hwange National Park have an array of beautifully situated tented camps. Many of them overlook areas alive with wildlife and are positioned in secluded parts of the parks.

Some of our favourites include John’s Camp, with its access to walking on game-rich floodplains, and Somalisa Camp, renowned for the elephants that frequent its pool.

If You Have More Time

Zimbabwe can easily be combined with one of its neighbours, especially Zambia or Botswana. Alternatively, you can explore the country in more depth, adding time in Gonarezhou, Matobo Hills or Great Zimbabwe.
