Mozambique

XXX

With a coastline stretching thousands of kilometres along the Indian Ocean, it should be little surprise that Mozambique is renowned for its beautiful beaches.

A collection of stylish and luxurious lodges dot this coastline, as well as the archipelagos that lie off it. Each of the lodges is unique in style, but they share an appreciation of the phenomenal natural beauty on their doorstep. Relaxation is often top priority here, but those feeling a little more active will discover excellent watersports, great snorkelling and plenty of marine life.

Why Mozambique

Mozambique’s convenient location next to South Africa makes it the perfect way to end a South African safari. Far more accessible than the Indian Ocean islands, but still retaining that desert island feel, it’s a fantastic place to finish a holiday.

When to Go

Mozambique experiences a long dry season, running from April to November. Whilst conditions can be excellent throughout this period, the winds tend to pick up between June and August, so you are best visiting at either end of the season when the weather is also warmer and the seas are calmer.

Three Places to Stay in Mozambique

White Pearl Resort

Positioned on Mozambique’s dune-filled southern coast, White Pearl overlooks waters popular with dolphins and other marine life. Beautifully elegant, the resort makes the most of its tranquil surroundings.

Machangulo Beach Lodge

Just a boat ride away from Maputo, Machangulo manages to combine accessibility with remoteness. It perches on a sandy promontory, with a calm lagoon on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other.
