This is when water levels in the Okavango Delta are high and the weather is dry.

This is Kenya’s long, dry season, when the skies are clear and wildlife viewing is at its best.

The landscape is lush after the short rains but the skies are clear and wildlife plentiful.

This is the country’s long rains, when visiting is generally not recommended.

The weather is warm, still and dry. This is the perfect time to visit.

Still dry and fairly warm, these months are only less popular because they tend to be breezy.

Pleasant temperatures, clear skies and great game viewing make this the ideal time.

These months are dry and cold, with wildlife sightings not yet reaching their peak.

The skies are clear and tracks are dry, making this the best time for gorilla trekking.

The short dry season, this is great for visiting but can still be disrupted by the occasional storm.

Rain showers are common but so is sunshine. The skies make for great photography.

This is the rainy season, but it is the best time to see chimpanzees, so still worth visiting.

The Great Migration is at its most dramatic in the north and the weather is dry.

These are shoulder months so rain is possible but rates can be much lower.

June to September

Clear skies and dry weather make this a great time for both safari and chimp or gorilla trekking.

Showers disrupt these months but it’s largely dry, making for excellent wildlife viewing.

The short rains begin to arrive, but this is still a good time to explore and often quieter.

This is when the heavy rains hit Uganda and travel is often disrupted by poor road conditions.

July to October

The best time to visit, this when the ground is dry, the sky is clear and animals are most visible.

The shoulder season, this is still a good time to explore and camps are often quieter.

This is the green season, when rain falls and many camps are closed. Victoria Falls is at its best though.

May to September

Victoria Falls is spectacular, the weather is dry and the wildlife sightings are excellent.

October & November

Wildlife sightings remain excellent but it can get very hot. Victoria Falls is at its lowest flow.

This is the rainy season. However, birding is excellent and Victoria Falls is at its peak by the end of the season.
