South Africa Family Safari

Introduction

Combining safari with city, this week-long escape showcases why South Africa is such a popular destination for families.

Beginning in Madikwe, you can explore a reserve packed with wildlife, as well as activities. Considered a low-risk malaria area, this is the perfect destination for kids on their first safari. Then finish with time in Cape Town, a city where there is something for every person and for every age.

Where to Stay

Both locations are packed with fantastic options, especially Cape Town, which has everything from private villas to boutique hotels.

But for families, we recommend properties that offer comfortable family rooms and options for children. With this in mind, Thakadu River Camp and The Royal Boutique Hotel are a couple of our favourites.

If You Have More Time

South Africa is such a vast and diverse country that you could easily spend months exploring it, so options to extend are endless. But from Cape Town, you’re within easy reach of the Garden Route and the Western Cape, both of which are well-suited to self-drive trips.
